UP-Date as to what’s happening at the G. Marconi Lodge #1620!

July 26 Picnic at ITAM
Eleven G.Marconi Lodge members participated at the ITAM Lodge picnic. We were fortunate in that it only rained sporadically during the day, mostly toward the end. The food and beer as well as the hospitality were outstanding as usual. Thanks to ITAM Lodge for inviting us. We all enjoyed the boat ride. It was good to see out State President Jim, Immediate Past President Florence Kane, 3rd National Vice President Dorothy Berlandi and Past President Kevin Caira, National Foundation Trustee Richard Farina, and 2nd State Vice President Tony Sestito.

On July 30th
A subcommittee of the Italian Culture Committee of Berkshire County presented its first Italian program on Pittsfield Public Access Station. Hopefully, we will have it shown on CTSB in South County in the near future. The program was hosted by Judge Rudy Sacco, Ret. And the guest for the evening was George Membrino of Lee. George told of his experiences growing up in an Italian home in America and his family life in Italy.

Thursday, August 6th
The Pittsfield and Lee Jr. Lodges are sponsoring a picnic and dance for the Cava d’ Terrini Youth group starting at 4 with the picnic and the dance at 8p.m. at ITAM. Elaine Consolati and Lisa Bowers will be chaperones at this event for Lee.

Important Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 18th
All Council members are asked to be at St. Mary’s School at 7pm for this very important meeting. The Council consists of everyone from the Guard to the President.

August 19th Free Italian Music Performance
The Village at Laurel Lake will be sponsoring a free performance of Italian music at 3:15p.m. This is an event that we may want to sponsor in the future. We will need the feedback of members as to the performance and the possibility of sponsoring for a lodge event. We would appreciate it if members of the Sons might be able to attend this and report back at our September meeting.

September 3, 2009
Regular Meeting 7:00p.m. We will discuss Founders Weekend and our participation in it and collecting money and finalizing those going on the Trip September 20th. We will definitely need the names of the people going on the trip by the September 3rd meeting. The trip will be open to the public after this meeting. In addition, our state delegates will speak on the past convention.
